       Consideration of five Shillings lawful Money of Maryland to the said
       Thomas Smith in hand paid by the said Nathan Smith the Receipt
       whereof is hereby acknowledged Have Given Granted Aliened Bargained
       and sold and by these Presents do Give Grant Aliene Bargain
       and sell unto the said Nathan Smith and his Assigns All that
       Plantation Tract or Parcell of Land lying and being at Lyons Creek
       on the East side of Patuxent River within the Province of Maryland
       Containing as is supposed three hundred Acres and was formerly the
       Land of one Francis Leaf Together with all and singular the dwelling
       House and all other House or Houses and other Improvements thereon
       or thereto belonging or in any manner of way appertaining And all
       the Estate Reversion and Remainder Right Title Interest & Demand
       whatsoever which the said Thomas Smith and Elizabeth his Wife or
       either of them hath ought to have or hereafter shall have to of and in
       the said Tract of Land and ^other^ Premises with the Appurtenances or any
       Part or Parcel thereof To have and to hold the Tract of Land
       & Premises af.d with the Appurtenances to the said Nathan Smith
       and his Heirs immediately after the Death of Elizabeth Smith, for
       and during the Natural Lives of the said Thomas Smith & Elizabeth
       his Wife and the longest Liver of them In Testimony whereof
       the Parties first abovementioned hath hereunto put their Hands &
\      Affixed their Seals the day and Year abovewritten
          Signed Sealed and Delivered            Tho.s Smith      Seal

                         On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed viz.t
       Prince Geo Co.ty 30 October 1744  Then received of Nathan Smith
       the sum of five Shillings Lawful Money of Maryland being
       the Consideration Money within mentioned I say received
