233) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorst (Viz.t) Queen Anns County fs.t Be it remembered that on the twentieth Day of October One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty Six the within named Robert Walters, William Osburn, and John Smyth personally appeared before Us the Subscribers two of his Lordship's Justices of Peace for Queen Anns County af.d and did Acknowledge the within written Deed to be their Act & Deed and the Land and Premes therein mentioned to be the Right of the within Named John Smyth his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the form force and Effect of the same Deed T H Wright seal Recorded 13.th November 1746 Rob.t N Wright seal Vide recovery recorded in Lib 6 1/2 E I N.o 10 fol 387 Ex.d This Indenture made the 27.th Day of September One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six Between William Armistead of Glocester County in the Colony of Virginia Esquire & Mary his Wife Daughter & Coheir of James Bowles of the Province of Maryland Esq.r deceased of the one part and George Plater of Saint Marys County in the said province Esq.r of the other part Witnesseth that the said William & Mary for & in Consideration of the sum of Two hundred & Ten Pounds Sterling in Hand paid by the said George Plater the receipt whereof he the said William doth hereby Acknowledge Have Granted, Bargained, Sold Aliened Released & Confirmed and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release & Confirm unto the said George Plater his Heirs & Assigns forever All the Land where Hector Maclain did live Joining to John Reads & all the Land called Hog Neck & so up along the Branch called break Neck Hill Branch to the Main Roads as goes to our Church and so to the Bridge and all the Land the south side of the Branch from where Owen Read did live between John Hall's & William Wilkinson's within Resurrection Mannor in Saint Mary's County which said Lands were Devised by the said James Bowles to the said Mary & her Heirs forever which are now in the possession of the said George Plater And also all their Estate right Title & Interest of in and to One Third Part of ^a^ Tract of Land Called Grantham in Kent County in the said Province (which) |
