Ex.d Know all men by these Presents that I Christopher Grindall of the City
       of London but now of the Province of Maryland Mariner have made ordained
       Constituted and appointed And by these Presents Do make ordain Constitute and
       appoint George Atkinson and James Slemaker both of the Province afs.d my true
       and Lawfull Attorney and Attorneys Jointly and Severally for me and in my name
       and for my own proper use and benefit to ask demand and recieve all such Debts
       sum and sums of money Rent arrerages of Rent Yearly payments
       Merchandizes goods money Due upon Mortgages Bonds Bills of Exchange
       or otherwise howsoever and all other demands whatsoever which now are or
       hereafter shall be due or belonging unto me from any Person or Persons
       Whatsoever And I Do hereby Authorize and impower my said Attorneys or
       either of them to use all Lawfull and equitable ways and means whatsoever
       for recovery and to Compell a Performance thereof in any Court or Courts of Law
       or equity or otherwise and for me and in my name to appear and make defence
       in any of the said Courts and for that purpose and Carrying on any suits for me
       to retain fee and imploy any Attorney Solicitor and Council and as occasion shall
       require to give releases acquittances and discharges and for all the purposes
       afs.d to Constitute and appoint one or more Attorney or Attorneys to Act under
       them my said Attorneys hereby Constituted or either of them and the same at
       Pleasure to Revoke Dismiss or Discharge and to appoint others in their
       Stead And Generally I do hereby give and Grant unto my said Attorney
       or either of them my full and Whole Power in the Premisses to do and Execute
       all and every such matters and things in and Concerning the same as I my
       self Could or might do if Personally Present And I do hereby Ratify and
       Confirm all and whatsoever my said Attorneys or either of them or any person
       under them or either of them shall lawfully Act and do by Virtue of these Psents
       or any Authority derived therefrom In Witness whereof I have hereunto set
       my hand and Seal the thirteenth Day of June in the Year of our Lord seventeen
       hundred and forty four
