428) On the Back of the aforegoing Instrument of writing was thus Endorst Viz.t Calvert County fs.t April the 14.th 1743 Witnesseth John Chaddock made Oath on the holy evangelist that he saw Cap.t William Chapman sign Seal and Deliver the within Power of Attorney for the uses and intents therein mentioned Sworn to ^this^ the 14 Day of April 1743 before us two of his Lordship's Justices of said County Tho.s Ireland Jun.r John Smith Calvert County fs April the 27 1743 Witnesseth Robert Greaves made Oath on the holy Evangelist that he Saw Cap.t William Chapman sign seal and Deliver the within Power of Attorney for the uses and Intents therein mentioned, Sworn to this before us two of his Lordship's Justices of said County the day and Year as above Recorded July the 8.th 1743 Tho.s Ireland Jun.r 2 1/2 John Smith Ex.d Maryland fs. Know all Men by these Presents that I Walter Smith Freshes of Calvert County in the Province af.d for & in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred pounds Sterling money of Great Britain to me in hand paid Have bargained Sold & made over & do by these Presents bargain sell and make over unto Alex.r Lawson of Baltimore County in the Province af.d Merchant one Negro man named Hercules aged about Twenty Years One Negro man named Cooper aged about Twenty Years & one Negro Woman named Lucy about Eighteen Years one Negro Woman named Hannah aged about Twenty Years One Negro Girl named Biner aged about five Years old One Negro Girl named Ann aged ab.t five Years Old One Negro Girl named Susan one & a half years old (one) |
