363) the said John Godsgrace his heirs and Assigns shall and may untill default is made in performance of the Provisoe or condition afores.d peaceable enjoy the Lands and Negroes af.d with the appurtenances anything herein contained to the contrary Notwithstanding In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the Day and year first above Written John seal Godsgrace Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of William Cumming Henry Cumming Nov.r the 19.th 1742 Then Reced of the within named John Wardrop the sum of two hundred Pounds Sterling in full for the consideration money within mentioned Test William Cumming P John Godsgrace Geo Luxford (£ 200) Maryland fs.t Nov.r the 22.d 1742 Then came the within named John Godsgrace before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed for the use of the within named John Wardrop and Rebecca the wife of the said John Godsgrace being Privately Examined out of the hearing of her s.d Husband Declared that she Acknowledged the same Deed Willingly and freely without being Induced thereto by threats or Ill usage of her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Acknowledged According to the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided before me the Day and year aforesaid W.m Rogers Recorded Nov.r the 23.d 1742 18 sides |
