       Magistrates of the Province of Maryland who Jointly and
       severally acknowledge the within Instrument to be their
       Act and Deed and the Land and Premises therein mentioned
       to be the Right of the within named John Conaway his heirs
       and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning
       of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case
       made and Provided

             And at the same time came Hellen the wife of the said
       Benjamin and she being Examined out of the hearing of her
       said husband Decleare that she freely Releaseth her
       Right of Dower to the Land and Premises within mentioned
       and further that she makes the same acknowledgment
       willingly and freely and without being Induced thereto by
       fears or threats or ill usage of her said Husband or for fear
       of his Displeasure According to the Act of Assembly before
       mentioned                                             Robert Gordon

Ex.d This Indenture made the twenty seventh Day of October in the
       Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and forty two Between
       John Ramsay of the City of Annapolis Merchant of the one Part and
       George Gordon of Prince Georges County Merchant of the other Part
       Witnesseth that the said John Ramsay for and in Consideration of the
       sum of five shillings sterling Money to him in Hand paid by the
       said George Gordon at or before the ensealing and Delivery of these
       Presents The Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath bargained
       and sold and by these Presents Doth bargain and sell unto the said
       George Gordon All and every the Goods Household Stuff and Furniture
       whatsoever mentioned in a certain Schedule to these Presents annexed
       and all his Right Title and Interest of in and to the same To have
       and to hold all and singular the said Goods Household Stuff
       and Furniture hereby bargained and sold or mentioned or
