       more or less unto him the said Joseph Lane and his Heirs and Assigns
       for ever and for no other Use Purpose or Intent whatsoever And the said
       William Ireland for himself and his Heirs doth covenant promise
       grant and agree to and with the said Joseph and his Heirs and
       Assigns that he the af.d William and his Heirs the af.d Peice or
       Parcel of Land above mentioned being the easternmost Part or Moiety
       of the af.d Land called Clackson's Hope unto him the said Joseph and
       his Heirs shall and will for ever warrant and defend against all
       manner of Persons whatsoever the Rents and Services hereafter growing
       due to the Lord Proprietary or other chief Lord of the Fee or Fees only
       accepted and foreprized In Witness whereof the Parties abovementioned
       have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and affixed
       their Seals the Day and Year above written

                                    On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorst
       (Viz.t)      May the 14.th 1742
          Calvert County fs      Then came the within named William
       Ireland Gent before us the Subscribers two of his Lordship's Justices of
       the Peace for the County af.d and acknowledged the within Instrument
       as his Act and Deed and that the easternmost Moiety of the
       within Deed Tract of Land called Clackson's Hope is the Right &
       Estate of the within named Joseph Lane his Heirs and Assigns for
       ever according to the true Intent and meaning of the within Deed
       and the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided And at
       the same time came Mary Wife of the said William Ireland who being
       by us privately examined out of the Hearing of her said Husband
       declared that she did acknowledge the within Instrument as her
       Act and Deed and that the abovementioned Moiety of the Land
