284) Ex.d This Indenture made the fifteenth Day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty one Between John Galloway of West River in Ann Arundell County Merchant Attorney in fact for John Taillor Merchant in London of the one Part & Jacob Giles of Baltemore County Merchant of the other Part Whereas the said John Taillor by his Procuration or Letter of Attorney to the said John Galloway bearing Date in London the Second Day of July in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and forty one duely proved & Entered on Record in the Secretarys Office in Lib E I W 3 fol 260 relation being thereunto had may appear Among other things impowered the said John Galloway to bargain sell assign convey alien enfeoffe release & Confirm unto such Person or Persons & for Such Consideration or Considerations as his said Attorney shall think fit all & every or any Such Plantations Lands Messuages Tenements and Estates whatsoever of or belonging to him the said Constituant Scituate & being in Maryland af.d as he the said Constituant shall at any time or times hereafter by any Writing under his hand Order direct & appoint & to receive & take the Purchase Money or Produce thereof for his Use & thereupon to Sign Seal duely Execute & Deliver unto & ^or^ to the Use of Such Purchaser or Purchasers his or their Heirs Executors Administrators or Assignes all & Every Such Deeds Writings Conveyances & Assurances in the Law whatsoever as shall be required for the Effectual Conveying & assuring the said Premisses or any Part thereof Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said John Galloway by Virtue of the said Procuration or Letter of Attorney for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and Ninety Pounds Sterling to him in hand paid by the said Jacob Giles to the Use of the said John Taillor the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath bargained sold made over Enfeoffed and Confirmed & by these Presents Doth bargain sell make over Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the said Jacob Giles his Heirs and Assignes All that Tract or Parcell of Land being Part of a Tract of Land called the Land of Promise Granted unto Coll.o Thomas Taylor on the Second Day of December Sixteen hundred & Eighty four Scituate lying & being in Baltemore County on the West Side of Susquehanna River (supposed) |
