X.d  By this Publick Instrument of Procuration or Letter of Attorney
       Be it known and Manifest unto all those that so these Presents or hear
       the same read That on the thirteenth Day of November in the Year of our
       Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred & Forty That I Alexander Black of
       London at present in Maryland Merchant have made ordained Constituted
       Authorized & appointed & by these Presents do make ordain Constitute &
       appoint James Maccubbins of Baltimore County in Maryland my true
       & lawfull Attorney Giving & by these ^Presents^ Granting unto my said Attorney full
       Power & lawfull Authority for me the said Constituent in my Name & to my
       Use to ask demand Levy Sue for and by all Lawfull Ways & Means recover
       & receive of and from all & Every or any Person or Persons whatsoever whom
       it Shall or may concern Inhabiting in Maryland Great Britain or the
       Provinces thereunto belonging all such Sum and Summs of Money Goods
       Wares Merchandizes Effects Estate & Things whatsoever Now are or
       Shall or may hereafter be due owing Payable Belonging or in any wise
       appertaining unto me the said Constituent whether by Bond Note Bill
       Book Debt Account Consignment or otherwise whatsoever and to that
       End with the said Person or Persons concerned to account & to view
       Settle & adjust all Accounts and the Ballances thereof to receive And
       upon Recoveries & Receipts to give one or more Acquittances or other
       Sufficient Discharges in due Form of Law But in Case of Refusal
       or Delay by the said Person or Persons to make Good & render a just
       & true account Payment Delivery & Satisfaction in the Premisses him
       her or them thereunto to compell by all Lawfull Ways & Means whatsoever
       Also if Need be to appear before all or any Lords Judges & Justices
       in any Court or Courts thereto answer defend & Reply in all Matters and
       Causes touching or concerning the Premisses & to do say persue implead
       Seize Sequester Attach arrest imprison & to condemn & out
       of Prison again to deliver And Generally in & concerning the
       Premisses to do performe and Execute all and whatsoever
       shall be requisite and Necessary as fully Amply and
       Effectu^a^ly to all Intents and Constructions and purposes as
       I the said Consituent might or could do if personally present
       with power to Substitute one or more Attorneys Under him
       with Like or Limitted Power and the same again to Revoke
       I The said Constituent hereby Ratifying and Confirming and holding
       for Good and Valid all or whatsoever my said Attorney
       or his substitutes shall Lawfully do or Cause to be done
