123) His Executors Administrators or assigns well & truly to pay the said Several Sums of Sterling & Current money together with the Lawfull Interest thereof as af.d In Witness whereof the said John Parish hath hereunto set his hand & Seal the Day & Year first above Written On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t Sealed & Delivered in the John Parish seale Presence of us Tho.s Addison J Chase Reced from Charles Carroll the Consideration within mentioned Sums being One hundred & forty One pounds Seventeen Shillings & four pence Sterling & Seventy Six pounds Current money John Parrish Then came John Parish Party to the within Deed & Acknowledged the Same According to Law & Eliz.a the Wife of the said John Parish being Examined Privately & Apart from her said Husband declared that she relinquished her right & Claim of Dower to the within mentioned Lands & every of them & that she did the Same Voluntarily w.thout being compelled thereto by her said Husband or for fear of his Displeasure Taken & Acknowledged before 12 1/2 the 14.th Day of Feb.ry 1739 Recorded Feb.ry y.e 18.th 1739 Ex.d This Indenture made the Twenty Ninth Day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred & thirty Nine Between George Parker of Prince Georges County Planter of the one Part and John Van=Meter of Virginia Planter of the other Part Witnesseth that the said George Parker for & in Consideration of the sum of Sixty five pounds Curr Money of the province of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said John Van=Meter the Receipt whereof the said George Parker doth hereby Confess & acknowledge and thereof (and) |
