       Named Personally appeared M.r Couradt de Smeth of London Merchant
       who for himself and his Parter George Heathcote of London Esq.r did
       declare to have made Ordained and Constituted and by these Presents
       doth make ordain and Constitute M.r Diederick William Bodeker of
       Patapsco River in Maryland Merchant their true & Lawfull Attorney
       Giving and by these Presents granting unto their said Attorney
       full Power and ^lawfull^ Authority for him the said Couradt de Smeth & his
       Partner George Heathcote in their Names and to their Use to ask
       demand levy sue for & by all lawfull Ways and Means recover and
       receive of and from all & Every or any Person or Persons whom it shall
       or may Concern all Such Sum or Sums of Money Goods Wares Merchandizes
       Effects Estate & things whatsoever which any Person or Persons now
       doth or do or shall hereafter owe or stand indebted or hath or have or
       shall hereafter have in his or their hands Custody or Possession to
       them the said Couradt de Smeth & George Heathcote due owing belonging
       or in any wise appertaining whether by bond Note Bill Book
       Debt Account Consignment or for or by what other reason or means
       soever nothing Excepted or reserved and to that End to account & to view
       settle and adjust all Accounts and the Ballance thereof to receive upon
       recoveries & receipts to give one or more Acquittances or other sufficient
       discharges in due form of Law But in Case of Refusall or delay by any
       Person or Persons whom it shall or may Concern to make & render just
       & true Account Payment & satisfaction in the Premisses him or them
       to Compell by all Lawfull Ways and Means whatsoever also if need
       be to appear before all Lords Judges and Justices in any Court or Courts
       thereto answer defend and reply in all Matters and Causes touching
       or Concerning the Premisses to do say pursue implead seize sequester
       attach imprison & to Condemn & out of Prison again to deliver and
       Generally in & Concerning the Premisses to do perform & Execute all and
       whatsoever shall be requisite and Necessary as fully amply & Effectually
       to all Intents Constructions and Purposes as they the said Couradt de
       Smeth & George Heathcote might or could do if Personally Present
       with Power to Substitute one or more Attornies under him with like
       or limitted Power & the same again to revoke He the said Couradt de
       Smeth for himself & his Partner George Heathcote hereby Promising
       to ratifye Confirm & hold for Good and Valid all and whatsoever his
       said Attorney or his Substitutes shall lawfully do or Cause to be done
       in or about the Premisses by Virtue of these Presents Thus done and
       Passed in London af.d in the Presence of the under written Witnesses
