101) These do likeways Certifye that this Day William Lang Weaver of Dumbarton appeared before us and made Oath that he knew and was very well acquainted with Patrick Campbell Merchant here deceased that he was Brother to William Campbell also Merchant of Dumbarton Yet alive that the said Patrick Campbell had only one Son Called Walter Campbell who was a Schoolfellow with him for Severall Years that he heared he went abroad & Settled in Maryland In Testimony whereof the said Deponent and Magistrates have Subscribed these Presents at Dumbarton this Seventh Day of December One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Eight Years and the said Citys Seal is hereto affixed William Lang Jurat Coram J.a Duncanson Seal Hum Colquhoun July 14.th 1739 Before us the Subscribers two of the Right Honble the Lord Proprys Justices of the Peace of the County of Sommerset Came Robert Boyd and made Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that Mess.rs James Duncanson & Humphrey Colqhoun both of the County of Dumbarton in North Britain are well known to him and that at his Departure from thence which was on the twenty first Day of March last they Exercised the Office and Passed for Magistrates & Justices of the Peace for the City of Dumbarton in North Britain In Testimony whereof We have hereunto set our hands the Day & Year above written Will.m Stoughton Henry Ballard July 11.th 1739 Came Robert Boyd before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Somerset County and made Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that James Duncanson & Humphrey Colquhoun were Justices of the Peace in the County of Dumbarton when he left the said Place which was the first Day of March last and that this Deponant was well acquainted with them Robert Boyd Sworn before Geo Dashiell Recorded July 23.d 1739 14 Sides Ex.d This Indenture made this Twenty third Day of July in the Year of our Lord ^God^ One thousand Seven hundred thirty and Nine Between Edward Hall of Baltimore County Gentleman on the one Part and Mess.rs Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis in Ann Arundell County as Executors of James Carroll Deceased or the other Part Witnesseth that the said Edward Hall for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain by them the said Mess.rs Charles Carroll at & before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents in hand Paid The Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof Doth acquit Exonerate and Discharge them (the) |
