(562) On the first Day of September 1737 Came before me the Subscriber One of His Lodpp Justices of the Provinciall Court The within Named Tho.s Knighton & Keysar Knighton and Acknowledged the within presents to be their Act & Deed & the Lands & Premisses therein Mentioned to be the Estate right & Title of the within Named R.d Snowden Edm.d Jenings Jon.a Forward Jn.o Galloway & Jn.o Prichard & Joseph Cowman their Heirs & Assignes According to the true intent & Meaning of the within Presents And at ye same time Sarah the wife of the within Named Keysar Knighton Acknowledged before me the Subscriber the Within Deed Being first privately Examined out of the hearing of her said Husband & Declared she made Such Acknowledgment without the fear threats or Cumpulsion of her said Husband or his Displeasure Robert Gordon Reced of the within Named M.r Richard Snowden Six Shill.s & two pence Ster.l for the Use of the Right Hon.rble the Lord Baltimore being for the Aleination Fine of the within Land I Say reced P me Recorded y.e 13.th Oct.r 1737 Benj.a Tasker Ex.d This Indenture Made the Twenty first Day of September Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and Thirty Seven Between Edward Gaither of Annarundell County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman and Margarett his Wife of the one part and Richard Snowden of AnnArundell County Gentleman Edmund Jenings of the Same County Esq.r Jonathan Forward of London Merchant John Galloway Joseph Cowman & John Prichard of the same Ann Arrundell County Gentlemen being the Patuxent Iron Work Company of the other Part Whereas Benjamin Williams late of Ann Arrundell County aforesaid Deceased by his Testament and last Will bearing Date the thirteenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred & thirty & duely Executed and proved Did (amongst other things) Give & bequeath unto His then Wife Margarett the aforesaid Party to these presents all that Tract of Land Called Williams's Range in Prince Georges County Containing four hundred & twelve Acres More or Less saving two hundred Acres of the said Tract of Land Called Williams's Range Given by that his Last Will and Testament to his Son Joseph Williams To have and (to) |
