(537) has literas nostras Testimoniales fieri Sigilis Curiæ prerogative Cantuanensis predict (quo in hac parte utimur) appensiono Comminiri of p.raentium vinesimo sexto die Mensis Februarij Anno Domini millesimo septingensimo Tricesimo et nostre Translationis Anno Decano Sexto Linthwaite Faccant Registra Recorded August 1.st 1737 Deputat assumpt 7 1/2 Sides Ex.d This Indenture made this 26.th Day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & thirty seven Between Humphrey Wells Stokes of Baltemore County Gentleman son and heir of John Stokes Deceased and one of the Executors nominated by the Testament and last Will of the said John Stokes George Stokes of the same County Gentleman (one of the Sons and Devisees of the said John Stokes and also another of the Executors nominated and appointed by the said Testament of the said John Stokes and Susannah Mary Stokes (the Widow and another of the Executors of the said John Stokes) all of the one part and Jacob Giles of the said County Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said Humphry Wells Stokes Georges Stokes and Susannah Mary Stokes in Consideration of the Sum of four hundred Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain unto them by the sid Jacob Giles paid the Receipt Whereof the said Humphrey Wells Stokes George Stokes and Susannah Mary Stokes do hereby acknowledge Have Granted bargained released and Confirmed and by these presents Do Grant bargain release and Confirm unto the said Jacob Giles in his Actual possession now being All that Tract or Parcell of a Tract Land Called Bourne as hereafter described by Certain limits and bounds lying in Baltemore County aforesaid on the East side of a Creek Called Bourn Creek and on the Bay Side the said part to be described as aforesaid being Parcell of a Tract of Land on return of a resurvey thereof made by Patent of Confirmation bearing Date on or about the tenth Day of September Anno Dom Seventeen hundred and twenty four granted unto the said John Stokes for five hundred & seventy acres Beginning for the said Part above mentioned & hereby sold at a bounded Locust standing on a point of Bourn Creek and at or near the place where stood the original beginning tree of Bourn and running thence up with the Bay according to the Meets and bounds in the said Grant to a branch Called Bourn branch and to that part of the branch where stood the second original bounded tree of Bourn Which branch divideth the now Dwelling Plantation of the said Jacob Giles from the now dwelling plantation of a Certain Augustus Brown and runing thence North North West Untill it intersects a line Drawn South West by South from the End of the South West by South thirty four Perches line of the whole Tract thence North East by North unto the Extend of the said South West by South thirty four perches line thence West by South One hundred twenty seven perches South East Eighty Six Perches South West by South One hundred Sixty Six perches and thence with a Streight line to the said bounded Tree be the Quantity more or less provided alway that in Case any part of the land Contained within the bounds aforesaid and ^that^ lieth to the North ward of a line Extended South West by South (from) |
