(343) 343 Memorandum that on the thirtieth Day Day of May in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred & thirty five Came before me of one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within Named William Douglass & Mary his wife & freely Acknowledged the within Deed to be the Act & Deed of them the s.d Will.m & Mary & that y.e within Mentioned Lands & Premisses were the right of the w.thin Named Benj.a Tasker & his heirs According to the Purport & Effect of the within Deed the s.d Mary Douglass being privately examined Whether she made her Acknowledgment of the same Willingly & freely & without being Induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage of her Husband or fear of his Displeasure before me Jo Young June the 13 1735 Then reced for his Lordships Use the Sum of Record.d June y.e 24.th 1735 Eighteen Shillings Sterl for the Alienation Fine of the w.thin Mentioned two Tracts of Land Containing 13 1/2 sides four hundred & fifty Acres I say reced P me Benj.a Tasker x.d This Indenture made the 25.th Day of March Anno Domini one thousand Seven hundred & thirty two Between Joyce Bradford of Prince Georges County Widow of the one Part & Charles Carroll Esq.r of the City of Annapolis in Ann Arundell County of the other Part Witnesses that the s.d Joyce Bradford for & in Consideration of the sum of Fifty four Pounds Sterling to her in hand Paid the receipt Whereof she Doth hereby acknowledge & thereof Doth Acquit the said Charles Hath granted sold & Confirmed as by these P.rsents she doth bargain sell Grant & Confirm unto him the s.d Charles Carroll & his heirs all the two Parcells of Land herein mentioned Viz.t the one Called Plain Dealing Lying in Prince Georges County Containing five hundred Acres the Other being two (hundred) |
