       Aprill y.e 7.th 1735 Personally appeared the within
       named William Merriott before me the subscriber
       One of his Lordships Justices of the Provinciall
       Court for the said Province & did acknowledge the
       within Instrument of Writing or Deed of Gift with
       the premisses therein Contained to be the right
       of the within Mencond W.m Merriott Jun.r & his
       assignes according to the true intent purport and
       Meaning of the said Deed Taken & acknowledged
       the Day & year above Written Before

x.d  This Indenture made the twenty first Day of April Anno Domini
       Seventeen hundred & thirty five by & Between Walter Smith & Roger
       Mathews of the Province of Maryland Gentlemen of the one Part & George
       Gale & John Gale both of Somerset ^County^ in the Province af.d Gent of the other ^part^
       Witnesseth that Whereas by an Act of Assembly of this Province Entituled
       an act empowering certain Commissioners to Vend & Dispose of the Lands
       Whereof Samuel Groom the Young or Dyed seized or was Mortgagee in
       Fee or Otherwise within this Province as also to Sell & Dispose of
       so much of the Land as will satisfie Betty Gale & Levin Gale Ex.rs of
       of the Testament of Levin Denwood late of Somerset County Deceased
       the sum of eight hundred & twenty pounds five Shillings & Seven
       Pence ^Sterl^ Due from the s.d Samuel Groome the Younger to the s.d Levin
       Denwood & then unsatisfied unto the s.d Betty Gale & Levin Gale
       his Executors it was amongst other things Enacted that M.r Thomas
       Worthington M.r Walter Smith & M.r Roger Mathews or any two
       of them whereby the s.d Act Empowered & Appointed Commissioners
       or Trustees on the Western Shore to Sell & Dispose to teh best Bidder
       so much of the Lands & Tenements whereof the s.d Samuel Groome
       the Younger was Seized or was Mortgagee in fee or Otherwise
       & then remained Unredeemed by the Debtors & undisposed off by
       the s.d Samuel Groome the Younger as ^should^ shall be sufficient to make
