266 x.d This Indenture made the Seventh day of May Anno Dom 1734 Between Edm.d Jenings of the City of Annapolis Esq.r and Ariana his wife of the one part and W.m Stephenson of the same Place Chyrurgeon of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said Edmund and Ariana his wife for the Consideration of five shill Curr.t money to them in hand paid by the said W.m Stephenson the Receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge and Acquit & disch.a the said W.m Stevenson therefrom Have Granted Bargained sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said W.m Stephenson his heirs and assigns for ever all that Tract or Parcell of Land Called Bright Holmstone scituate lying and being in Kent County Containing & Laid out for one thousand acres more or less as the same was sold to the said Ariana by Henry Evans as also all that Tract or Parcel of Land Called Baldwins Addition lying in Ann Arundell County sold by John Baldwin to the said Ariana Jenings together with all and singular the P.rmisses and Appurts to each of the said Tracts belonging to have & to hold the same with the Appurts unto the said W.m Stevenson his heirs & assignes for ever In Witness whereof the said Parties to these Presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day & and year first above written Signed Sealed & Delivered Edm Jenings seal In the presence of us Robert Gordon Tho.s Doughty Ariana Jenings seal On the back of the foregoing deed was written the foll Acknowlegm.t Viz.t May 7 1734 Then Came before me y.e subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Prov.ll Court the within named Edmund Jenings & Ariana his wife and Acknowledged the within deed to be their Act & Deed & the Land & Estate therein mentioned to be the Estate of the within named W.m Stevenson his heirs and assigns According to the purport thereof And the said Ariana being Examined Privately out of the hearing of her said husband did declare that she made the above Acknowledgment willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or Ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Rob.t Gordon Record.d 7.th May 1734 3 1/2 |
