                To the foregoing was Annexed the foll.o Affidavit
       Walter Hoxton of Stepney in the County of Middlesex Mariner
       maketh oath that he hath looked upon the Deed poll now exhibited
       to him marked with the Letter (A) bearing date this twenty first
       day of February Instant and purporting to be a letter of attorny
       from Sam.l Hyde of London Merch.t and only acting extor
       of the last Will & Testam.t of John Hyde of Poplar in the
       Parish of Stepney in the County of Middlesex af.d Merch.t
       his late Father Dec.d whereby the s.d Sam.l Hyde hath empowered
       Rich.d Bennett of Queen Anns County in the Province
       of Maryland in America to recover and Receive from
       all persons in Maryland af.d as well the Debts due to the
       estate of the s.d John Hyde Dec.d as to the s.d Sam.l Hyde
       on his own proper acct or to that effect And this Dep.t
       saith that the s.d Deed poll or letter of attorny was executed
       and Delivered by the s.d Sam.l Hyde in the prsence of
       this Dep.t and Sam.l Johnson and that in Testimony of
       the Sealing and Delivery thereof by the s.d Sam.l Hyde
       as af.d this Dep.t and the s.d Sam.l Johnson Did severally
       subscribe their Names as Witnesses thereto And that the
       Name Walter Hoxton now appearing as a Witness thereof
       is of this Dep.ts own proper hand Writing
