(463) and the foregoing Premisses the said Parties
have hereunto interchangably set their hands and seales the Day and year first above Written Sealed & Delivered Tho.s Clagett seale in the presence of us Charles Carroll George Buchanan On the Back of the aforegoing Indenture was thus Endorst vizt September 26.th 1730 Then received of Doctor Charles Carroll One hundred and fifteen pounds sterl money of Great Brittain being the Consideration Money within Mencond I say received by me £115 Charles Carroll Tho.s Clagett George Buchanan September 26 1730 Then Came before me one of his Lordships Justices of the Provinciall Court of the Province of Maryland Cap.t Thomas Clegatt and Mary his Wife and acknowledged the within Deed and the Land and premisses then Bargained and sold to be the right and Estate of Doctor Charles Carroll his heirs and assigns for Ever according to the Tenour thereof And the said Mary being privately examined apart from her said Husband Declares she does the same Freely and Willingly without being induced thereto by fear or threats of or ill useage by her husband or Fear of his Displeasure ( Recorded 26.th qber 1730) John Smith |
