December y.e 5.th 1724 Thereunto the w.thin Deed reced into the Secretarys office in order to be recorded according to Law p Vachel Denton Clk The within mentioned Benjamine Belt acknowledged the within Instrument as his Act and Deed according to act of assembly Also Elizabeth the wife of the said Benjamine being secretly examined out of the hearing of her said husband acknowledges her free consent to the sale within mentioned and that she does the same willingly and freely without being induced thereto by hard usage or threats of her said husband or for fear of his displeasure acknowledged according to Act of assembly aforesaid this fourteenth day of August Annoq Domini seventeen hundred and twenty four before us Joseph Belt Thomas Sprigge The abovementioned Benjamine Belt acknowledge the within deed as abovesaid and also the said Elizabeth being secretly Examined as aforesaid acknowledged her free Consent af.d and according to act of assembly af.d before Me one of his Lordships Justices of the provincial Court of Maryland this twenty seventh day of November Anno Dom seventeen hundred & twenty four Recorded Jan.ry y.e 5.th 1724 Thomas Addison Ex.d This Indenture made the fourteenth day of august Anno Dom seventeen hundred and twenty four Between Benjamin Belt of prince Georges County planter of the one part and John Tailor of the City of London Merchant of the Other part Wittnesseth that whereas there yet remains due unto the s.d John Taillor the sum of three hundred thirty and nine pounds sterling upon a judgment recovered against the said Benjamin Belt by the said John in the name of a certain Gilbert Higginson whose Assignee the said John ^is^ in the provincial Court of this |
