1729 Received of M.r Amos Woodward the sume of seventy pounds sterl being the Consideration sume within Mentioned I say received as above p me Test Richard Owings John Beale Jo Young John Lomas Memorandum on the day of the Date of the within Deed came before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provinciall Court of Maryland the within Named Richard Owings who acknowledges within Instrument as his Act and Deed and the Lands and premisses therein mentioned to be the right of the within Named Amos Woodward his heirs and Assignes for ever according to the true intent and meaning of the said Deed and the Act of Assembly In that Case made and provided and at the same time Sarah Wife of the said Richard Owings being privately examined out of the hearing of her said Husband Declared that she released her right of Dower To the Lands and premisses within mentioned to the said Amos Woodward his heirs and assignes for ever according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed and Declared that she made the said acknowledgment and releasment of her Dower aforesaid willingly and freely and without being Induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill ussage by her said husband or fear of his Displeasure according to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided Taken and acknowledged as above before me the day & year above Recorded this 12.th day Benj.a Tasker of June 1729 |
