pery & that she Belives she did seale and Deliver this Present Deed Jeremy Mount Thom.s Bates Memorandom That by Indenture dates y.e Tenth day of May In y.e year of our Lord one thousand six hund.d Eighty four y.e w.thin Named Rich.d Pery sold & conveyed to Th Plowden of Latham in y.e County of Southton Esq.r & George Plowden Gent The Resurreccon Manner w.thin mentioned & all Servants ^and^ stock there to belonging & a Farme plantation or parcell of Land called y.e Farme containing Five hund.d Acres or there abouts in Calvert County heretofore granted to y.e w.thin menconed John Bateman by Patent Jeremy Mount to w.ch aforegoing deed was Annext the following Instrum.ts viz To all to whome these Presents shall come wee sir John Eyles Barront Lord Mayor and y.e aldermen of y.e City of London send Greeting Know yee that on y.e Day of y.e Date hereof in y.e Kings Majesty Court holde^n^ before us my Chamber of Gaol ^Guild^ hall of y.e same City personally came & appeared John pery of Lewisham in y.e County of Kent Esq.r aged Eighty six years being a person well known & worthy of Good Creditt and did by solemn Oath w.ch he took upon y.e Holy Evangelists of Allmighty God before us then & their there solemnly declare testify & depose to be true that Mary Bateman heretofore of London spinster now deceased & who hath executed y.e Deed hereunto annexed bearing Date y.e Eighteenth day of November Anno Dom One thous.d six hund.d and seventy four was y.e sole Daughter & only child of John Bateman heretofore of ^London Haberdasher decead otherwise Jn.o Bateman heretofore of^ Patuxent River in y.e Province of Maryland and of Mary Bateman his y.e s.d John Baitemans wife also deceased & sister to him y.e s.d John Pery And also y.e s.d John Pery did declare that y.e s.d Mary Bateman deced who shall ^hath^ executed y.e s.d annexed Deed was Neice unto him y.e s.d John Pery & lived in his y.e s.d John Perys House as his housekeeper severall years & afterwards he y.e s.d John Pery married her to one M.r John Smith a spoonemaker in Cary |
