224 Memorandum On this day to wit the Twenty fourth
day of August seventeen hundred and Twenty seven Came Anne Ridgley the wife of the within named Nich.o Ridgley and being privately examined out of the hearing of her said Husband Relinquisht her Right of Dowrey to the within Land and premisses without any fear compulsion or Threats of her said husband and According to Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Taken and Acknowledged before us the subscribers Two of his Lordships Justices of Annarundell County The day and year above Written Moses Maccubbin Recorded Septem.r 4 1727 Robert Gordon x.d Maryland fs.t Know all men by these presents That We Charles Calvert of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland Esq.r Benjamin Tasker of the said City Esq.r and Charles Carroll of Annapolis aforesaid Esq.r are holden and firmly bound unto the Right Honourable Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Province of Maryland &.r in the full and just sum of one thousand pounds current money to be paid to his said Lordship his heirs and successors To the which paym.t well and truly to be made We bind our selves & every of us Our and every of Our Heirs Executors & Adm.rs joyntly and severally for the whole and in the whole firmly by these presents sealed with Our Seals & dated the Fifteenth day of July in the Thirteenth year of his Lordships Dominion & Annoq Dom 1727 The Condition of the above written Obligation is such that if the above bound Charles Calvert whilst he shall continue in the Office of Commissary Generall shall at his own proper Cost and Charge find a Supply of good ^and^ Sufficient Record Books necessary for the Entring up of all matters and things relateing to such Commissarys Officers and shall duly and carefully look after preserve and maintain all the severall books of Records now being and remaining in the said Office As also those that from time to time shall be added thereto in such manner as that when he shall be dismissed from Officiateing longer in the said Office shall deliver all the aforesaid Records to the next person that Succeeds in the said Office in good Order and repair according to the true intent and meaning of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided That then the above written obligation to be void and of no Effect Otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in Law Sealed & Delivered Cha Calvert seal In p.rsence of us Geo Plater Benj.a Tasker seal Sam.l Stringer Cha Carroll seal |
