(140) x.d This Indenture made the Third day of February Anno Dom 1725 and in the twelfth year of the reign of our soveraign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith &.r Between Anne Vernon of the parish of Saint Anns Westminster in the County of Midelesex spinster Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Christopher Vernon formerly of the Province of Maryland planter but late of London deceased of the one part and William Vernon of the province of Maryland aforesaid planter but now in London of the other part Whereas the said Christopher Vernon did make his last will and Testament in writing bearing Date on or about the eighth day of December Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and twenty four and did duly execute the same and did thereby give severall legacys theirein Mentioned and all the Residue and remainder of his Goods and Chattles after his debts and Legacys and funerall expences paid and discharged he Gave unto the said Ann Vernon by the name of his Aunt M.rs Ann Vernon and did theireby make her Executrix of his said Will and she did after his death duly prove his said will in the perogative Court of Canterbery & and take upon herself the Burthen of the Execution theireof as by the said will and the probate theireof relation being thereunto had may more fully appear And Whereas part of the personall Estate of the said Christopher Vernon was at the time of his death in the said province of Maryland the s.d Anne Varnon did after she had proved the said will by letter of Attorney under her hand and seal Impower William Chapman of South River in the said province of Maryland Merchant her Attorney for her and in her name to demand recover and receive of and from all and every person and persons whome it might concern inhabiting in the said province of Maryland all sums of mony Goods Merchandizes Effects and Estate due or belonging to her in the Quantity aforesaid or to the Estate of the said Christopher Vernon and to sell and dispose of the same as by the said letter of Attorney Relation being theireunto had may more fully appear and whereas the said William Chapman did by Vertue of the said letter of Attorney receive and gott in Greate part of the said personall Estate belonging to the said Christopher Vernon and sell and dispose theireof Now this Indenture witnesseth That for and In Consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds of lawfull mony of Greate Brittain in hand to and or secured to be paid by the said William Vernon to the said Ann Vernon the receipt or securing whereof |
