(13) warrant and Defend by these presents In Wittness Whereof The parties to these present Indentures have Interchangably set their hands and seals the day & year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered Alexa.r Adair Seal in presence of us Christ.r Adair Seal Joseph Hall Gilb.t Crockett On the back of w.ch deed was thus Endorst viz Reced of M.r Samuel Chew the sum of twenty pounds Curr.t money of this province being the Consideration of the within granted land &c.a Recd this 15.th of Aprill 1724 Maryland fs April y.e 15.th 1724/Alexr Adair Then Came before me William Lock one of the Justices of the provincial Court The Within Alex.r Adair & Christian his Wife parties to the within Written Deed and acknowledged the same pursuant to an Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided The said Christian being privately examined out of the hearing of her said Husband did freely & Voluntarily confess that she did freely & joyn with her husband in y.e within Deed without any fear Threats or Displeasure of him her said husband In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set My hand the day & year above written Recorded June 11.th 1724 William Lock Ex.d This Indenture made the fifteenth day of Aprill An.o Dom one thousand seven hundred and twenty four Between Alex.r Adair and Christian his Wife daughter and sole Heir of Thomas Sterling late of Calvert County in the province of Maryland of the One part and Samuel Chew of Ann Arundell County & province aforesd of the other part Wittnesseth That the said Alex.r Adair and Christian his wife standing legally seized & possessed in their Demesne as of Feerf & part of a tract of Land called |
