Honorable Thomas Hunter Lowe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Consti-
tution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1286 nd am returning it to you.

This Bill extends for two years the time limit for placing under con-
tract an item in the General Construction Loan of 1967 relating to the
acquisition of land and improvements adjacent to the Old State House in
St. Mary's City.

House Bill 1286 is a duplicate of Senate Bill 718 which was enacted
by the General Assembly and was signed by me on May 14, 1969. Con-
sequently, it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill 1286.

Sincerely,

/s/ Marvin Mandel,
