o'clock a.m. of each day, and that sales shall be permitted by a
Class B, beer, wine and liquor licensee at all hours except between
the hours of two (2) o'clock a.m. and six (6) o'clock a.m. of each
day.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 21 (e) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments; and that Sections 89(a) and 95(b)
of said Article and title, subtitle "Hours and Days for Sale," be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all to
read as follows:

21.

(e) In Calvert County such licenses may be issued [only for
premises within the town of North Beach and Chesapeake Beach]
in the entire county and the annual fee for each such license shall
be one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).

89.

(a)    Nothing in this article shall be construed to require any
holder of an on-sale license in Baltimore City, [and] Baltimore
County and Calvert County to close his establishment at any time
on January 1st of any year, and any holder of said license shall be
permitted to make any sale of alcoholic beverages authorized by
his license at any time on January 1st of any year.

95.

(b)    Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in Calvert
County sales shall be permitted by a Class A, beer licensee, Class A,
beer, wine and liquor licensee, Class B, beer licensee and Class B,
beer, wine and liquor licensee (including sales of package goods by
same) between the hours of 6 o'clock a.m. and [12 o'clock midnight]
two o'clock a.m. of each day including Sunday. Sales shall be per-
mitted by a Class B, beer, wine and liquor licensee [within the
limits of the towns of North Beach and Chesapeake Beach] at all
hours except between the hours of 2 o'clock a.m. and 6 o'clock a.m.
of each day.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
April 1, 1969, in order to afford the
Board of Liquor License Com-
missioners of Calvert County ample time to make all necessary adjust
-
ments to accommodate execution thereof.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS
ACT IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY
MEASURE AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRES-
ERVATION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY AND
HAVING BEEN PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUP-
PORTED BY THREE-FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS
ELECTED TO EACH OF THE TWO HOUSES OF THE GEN-
ERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM
THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.
