CHAPTER 319
(House Bill 570)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 18 (a) (2)
and 18 (b) of Article 57 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Limitations of
Actions," providing that in Baltimore County claims against the
county must be presented within one hundred and eighty days
after the injury.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 18(a) (2) and 18 (b) of Article 57 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement),
title "Limitations of Actions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments to read as follows:

18.

(a) (2) The provisions of this subsection shall be applicable with-
in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Fred-
erick, Harford, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's,
St. Mary's, Washington, Wicomico and Worcester Counties.

(b)    In the following counties: Baltimore, Charles, Harford,
Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, Washington,
Wicomico and Worcester the time within which such claim must be
presented is one hundred and eighty (180) days.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 576)

AN ACT to add new Section 98B(8)(i) to Article 52 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Justices of the
Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 98B(8)(h) thereof, to provide the People's
Court of Anne Arundel County authority to place convicted
offenders incarcerated at the Anne Arundel County Detention
Center on a work release program.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 98B(8) (i) be and it is hereby added to Article 52
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Jus-
tices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates System," to follow
immediately after Section 98B(8)(h) thereof, and to read as
follows:
