CHAPTER 304
(House Bill 439)

AN ACT to add new Section 70-35(c) to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Montgomery County (1965 Edition, being Article 16 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Montgomery
County," subtitle "Bicounty District Laws," subheading "Mary-
land-National Capital Park and Planning Commission," to follow
immediately after Section 70-35(b) thereof, prohibiting the
Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission from
constructing certain new roads adjacent to Rock Creek within
1500 feet from the banks of the creek.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 70-35 (c) be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1965 Edition, being
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Montgomery County," subtitle "Bicounty District Laws," subhead-
ing "Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission,"
to follow immediately after Section 70-35(b) thereof, and to read as
follows:

70-35.

(c) Notwithstanding any power given to the commission to
acquire land or other property, for the purpose of preserving and
enhancing the scenic beauty of Rock Creek, the Commission shall
not construct without the approval of the majority of the members
of the Montgomery County Council any new parkway, boulevard,
street, or road adjacent to Rock Creek within 1500 feet from the
banks of the creek; however, nothing in this section prohibits the
construction of any bridge, parkway, boulevard, street, or road
necessary to cross the creek.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 444)

AN ACT to add new Section 22A to Article 83 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Sales and Notices,"
subtitle "Consumer Protection," to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 22 thereof, to authorize the Attorney General to enter into
cease and desist agreements with persons violating the provi-
sions of this subtitle.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 22A be and it is hereby added to Article 83 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Sales
and Notices," subtitle "Consumer Protection," to follow immediately
after Section 22 thereof and to read as follows:
