Whereas, Section 584 of the Local Laws of Baltimore City as last
amended by Chapter 654 of the Acts of 1965 concerns the disposition
of certain unclaimed motor vehicles by the Police Department of
Baltimore City; and

Whereas, This function is now to be taken over by the Department
of Public Works in Baltimore City so that Section 584 is no longer
necessary; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 584 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City
(1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Baltimore City," subtitle "Police Department,"
subheading "Special Fund," as said section was last amended by
Chapter 654 of the Acts of 1965, be and it is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 303
(House Bill 432)

AN ACT to add new Section 437 to Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles,"
subtitle "Safety Standards for Motor vehicles," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 436 thereof providing safety standards for
vehicles used to transport children to or from BY nursery schools
or, camps, or both, DAY NURSERIES OR DAY CARE CEN-
TERS FOR RETARDED CHILDREN TO TRANSPORT CHIL-
DREN and granting the Department of Motor Vehicles authority
to regulate these vehicles.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 437 be and it is hereby added to Article 66½ of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Motor
Vehicles," subtitle "Safety Standards for Motor Vehicles," to follow
immediately after Section 436 thereof and to read as follows:

437.

Every motor vehicle used to transport children to or from BY
nursery schools or, camps, DAY NURSERIES OR DAY CARE CEN-
TERS FOR RETARDED CHILDREN TO TRANSPORT CHIL-
DREN or both, which is not regulated as a "school bus" under this
Article, shall be equipped with seat belts, at least four (4) doors
FOR
EACH SEAT and shall be subject to such other regulations as may be
prescribed by the Department.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
