Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 534H(C)(C)3. and 534(J)H(J) of Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1968
Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and
Punishments," subheading "Sabbath Breaking," be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as
follows:
534H.
(C) (C) Nothing in this section applies to:
1. Farmers
2. Nurserymen
3. Small business with not more than [three (3)] ten (10) SIX (6)
persons on any one shift with the exception of persons or retailers
engaged in the sale of motor vehicles.
(J) (J) Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions
of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, is
subject to the following penalties. [The first] A conviction under
this section is to be punished by a fine not to exceed one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00), [a second conviction is punished by a fine not
to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), and for a third or sub-
sequent conviction by a fine not to exceed two thousand dollars
($2,000.00),] for each employee caused, directed, permitted or au-
thorized to work in violation of this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 278
(House Bill 294)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 59-83(d)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1967
Supplement, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Prince George's County", subtitle "Park and
Planning Commission", and Section 70-89 (d) of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1965 Edition, being
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Montgomery County", subtitle "Maryland-National Capital Park
and Planning Commission", to provide that in both Montgomery
and Prince George's Counties there must be a two-thirds majority
vote of the District Council to turn down the recommendation of a
municipality concerning a zoning amendment within its corporate
limits.
