provided in the section, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction before any [justice of the peace or court of the county or
city where the offense was committed] court of competent juris-
diction of this State shall be fined not less than [twenty] ten dollars
[($20.00)] ($10.00) [nor] or more than fifty dollars ($50.00) and
costs for each and every offense. [And in addition to said fine shall
be fined five dollars ($5.00) for e] Each and every game bird and
game animal caught or killed illegally, purchased or offered for
purchase, sold or offered for sale, barter, or exchange, or taken or
killed in excess of the bag limit or found in possession illegally[.]
constitutes a separate offense under this section. The penalties
herein provided, however, shall not apply to the illegal hunting,
pursuing, catching, killing or possession of deer, the penalties for
which shall be the penalties set forth in Section 196 [.] or to wild
waterfowl, the penalties for which shall be those set forth in Section
152.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 270
(House Bill 252)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 217(b)
of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehi-
cles Upon Highways," to remove the provision therein that
vehicles moving on a roadway at a rate of speed ten miles or more
below the maximum speed limit applicable thereto be required to
be driven on the extreme right side of any shoulders or extensions
provided for such roadway.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 217 (b) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
217.
(b) Any vehicle moving at a rate of speed ten miles or more
below the maximum speed limit applicable to the particular roadway
shall be driven upon the extreme right side thereof. [, and where
shoulders or extensions are provided, then upon the extreme right
side of the shoulder or extension.]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
