inside of a line drawn from Mountain Point to Persimmon Point,
Little Magothy River, Whitehall Bay between the shore and a line
drawn from Hacketts Point to and including Mill Creek; Severn
River between the shore and a line drawn from Greenbury Point to
the east side of the entrance to Lake Ogleton; South River between
the shore and a line drawn between [Turkey Point and the east side
of Duvall Creek,] Mayo Point and Hill Point, and extending fifteen
hundred (1,500) feet in front of the Sandy Point State Park and the
Fort Smallwood Park; EXCEPT THAT DURING THE PERIOD
APRIL 1-OCTOBER 15 IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL TO DREDGE
CLAMS IN SOUTH RIVER NORTH OR WEST OF A LINE
DRAWN BETWEEN TURKEY POINT AND THE EAST SIDE
OF DUVALL CREEK, AND PROVIDED THAT IT SHALL BE
UNLAWFUL TO DREDGE CLAMS AT ANY TIME IN DUVALL
CREEK NORTH OR EAST OF A LINE DRAWN FROM SHORE
TO SHORE WHERE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN SHORES
FIRST BECOMES LESS THAN 300 YARDS, OR IN SELBY BAY
SOUTH OR WEST OF A LINE RUNNING FROM TURKEY
POINT TO NAVIGATION AID NO. 2 AND THEN TO THE
NEAREST POINT OF LAND NORTHWESTERLY OF NAVIGA-
TION AID NO. 2.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 240
(Senate Bill 505)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6 of
Article 96½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Veterans," subtitle
"Maryland Veteran's Commission," to change the name of the chief
executive officer of the Commission and provide that he be a
member of the State Merit System.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6 of Article 96½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Veterans,"
subtitle "Maryland Veteran's Commission," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

6.

The Maryland Veteran's Commission shall appoint an officer who
shall be known as the ["State Service Officer"] State Service and
Executive Officer and who shall be a member of the Merit System for
State Employees,
and such other employees as may be provided
for in the budget. The Commission shall administer and disburse
such direct relief funds as the budget may provide, and shall prepare
in proper form and present and prosecute the claims of male and
female veterans, and their dependents, with the United States Vet-
erans Administration and other federal agencies, and shall secure
