(m) In Garrett County the Board of Education, upon a deter-
mination to establish a community college and the adoption of an ap-
propriate resolution thereon, shall notify the County Commissioners
of such determination. The County Commissioners may elect, within
60 days from receipt of such notification, to submit the question of
whether to establish a community college to the qualified voters of
Garrett County at the next general election or at a special election
called for that purpose. The Board of Education shall be authorized
and directed to proceed with the establishment of a community col-
lege in the event that County Commissioners elect not to submit such
question to the voters but take no official action against such proposal
within the time specified or in the event that the County Commis-
sioners elect to submit the question to the voters and the same is
approved.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 225
(Senate Bill 387)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with an amendment, Section 145 (e)
of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supple-
ment), title "Banks and Trust Companies," subtitle "Credit
Unions," to correct an error to require that one (1) member of the
Supervisory Committee may be a Director other than the Treas-
urer.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 145 (e) of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Supplement), title "Banks and Trust Companies," subtitle
"Credit Unions," be and is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
an amendment, to read as follows:

145.

(e) The supervisory committee shall be appointed by the board
from the members of the credit union, and one member of the
[board] committee may be a director other than the treasurer. The
board shall determine the number of members on the committee,
which shall not be fewer than three or more than seven members.
No member of the credit committee or any employee of the credit
union may be appointed to the supervisory committee. Regular terms
shall be for one (1) year and until the appointment and qualification
of their successors.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1969.
