in accordance with paragraph (f) of Section 14(7) of this Article.
HOWEVER, THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF ONE-SIXTH AS
PROVIDED IN THIS SUBSECTION SHALL NOT BE APPLIED
TO OR PAYABLE FOR ANY ANNUITY PROVIDED THROUGH
VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS UNDER SECTION 14(1) (e) OF
THIS ARTICLE.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That new Section 113(12) be
and it is hereby added to Article 77 of the said Code (1965 Replace-
ment Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Public Education," sub-
title "Chapter 8. Teachers' Certificates, Salaries and Pensions,"
subheading "Teachers' Retirement System," to follow immediately
after Section 113(11) thereof, and to read as follows:

113.

(12) Any person on July 1, 1969 who is receiving a retirement
allowance under this Article or who is receiving such an allowance
as the beneficiary of such a person shall receive an additional amount
as provided herein. The additional amount shall be equal to one-
sixth of the total sum represented by the retirement allowance pay-
able under this Article and any supplementary payment received
under the provisions of Section 116(7) of this Article after any
reduction made in accordance with paragraph (f) of Section 116
(7) of this Article.
HOWEVER, THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT
OF ONE-SIXTH AS PROVIDED IN THIS SUBSECTION SHALL
NOT BE APPLIED TO OR PAYABLE FOR ANY ANNUITY
PROVIDED THROUGH VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS UN-
DER SECTION 116(1) (d) OF THIS ARTICLE.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(Senate Bill 607)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 22 (a)
and 23 (a) of Article 88B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "State
Police," subtitle "Police and Civilian Employees," and Section 76
(d) of Article 100 of said Code (1964 Replacement Volume and
1968 Supplement), title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle
"State Employees," to increase the salaries paid to police employees
of the Department of State Police, to authorize payment of certain
additional compensation,
and relating generally to the compensa-
tion of police employees of said Department.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 22 (a) and 23 (a) of Article 88B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement),
title "State Police," subtitle "Police and Civilian Employees," and
Section 76 (d) of Article 100 of said Code (1964 Replacement Volume
