be dismissed and the Governor , upon the recommendation of the
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, shall appoint as his suc-
cessor some licensed chiropractor practicing in this State who shall
be a graduate of a different school than those represented on the
Board.

Sec. 20. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sections 556 (1), 564 and 567 of Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Hospitals and Related Institu-
tions," be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, all to read as follows:

556.

(1) Board.—"Board" except as otherwise used in Sections 564 and
567, and except where inapplicable, shall mean the [State Board]
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene.

564.

An advisory board on hospital licensing of nine (9) members, each
of whom shall hold office for a period of (5) years, shall be appointed
by the [Governor] Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene to make
recommendations to the [State Board of Health and Mental Hygiene]
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene on the issuance or denial of
licenses, the establishment of minimum regulations, and applications
for approval of construction involving conversions, alterations, or
additions under the provisions of this subtitle and any amendments
thereto. Three (3) members of said advisory board shall be appointed
from a list of names submitted by the Medical and Chirurgical
Faculty of Maryland. One member of said advisory board shall be
appointed from a list of names submitted by the Maryland Pharma-
ceutical Association. Four (4) members of said advisory board shall
be appointed from a list of names submitted by the Hospital Council
of Maryland, Inc., of which two (2) shall be administrators of
Maryland hospitals, one (1) shall be a trustee of a Maryland hospital
and at least one (1) of whom shall be a member of the Medical and
Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland engaged in the private practice of
the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland engaged in the
private practice of medicine. One (1) member of the advisory board
shall be a person who has been an owner or administrator of a
licensed nursing home within the State of Maryland for a period of
not less than three years immediately prior to the date of appoint-
ment and who shall be appointed from a list of names submitted
by the Maryland Nursing Home Association, Inc. The members of
the said advisory board who are in office on June 1, 1965 shall con-
tinue for the balance of the terms for which they were respectively
appointed. All members of said advisory board shall be citizens and
residents of the State of Maryland for a period of at least one year
immediately prior to appointment; at least two (2) shall be residents
of the City of Baltimore; at least two (2) shall be residents of the
counties; and all members shall serve without compensatio
