An Act to enact Section 563A of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1965 Edition, being Article 23 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland) title "Wicomico County Action
Agency," authorizing an annual appropriation to the Wicomico
County Action Agency.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
WICOMICO COUNTY, MARYLAND, that Section 563A of Article 23 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1965 Edition, being
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland) title "Wicomico
County Action Agency," be enacted, to be known as Section 563A and to
read as follows:
Section 563A. Wicomico County Action Agency
The County Council of Wicomico County, Maryland, is hereby au-
thorized and directed to levy a sum, either in money or in kind, as it be
determined by said County Council in Executive Session, and appropriate
the same to the Wicomico County Action Agency, to be used by said agency
in furtherance of its objectives.
Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED that this Act, having
been passed by the County Council of Wicomico County at its Legislative
Session of February, 1968, shall take effect April 1, 1968, unless a proper
petition for referendum thereof shall be validly filed prior to said date,
in which event this Act shall not take effect until the expiration of thirty
(30) days following approval of this Act by a majority of the qualified
voters of the County voting in any such referendum.
