MONTGOMERY COUNTY                               2099

(i) "Real estate salesman" means any person duly licensed as a
real estate salesman in accordance with the provisions of Article 56, An-
notated Code of Maryland, 1957.

77-14. Unlawful housing practices.

It shall be an unlawful housing practice and a violation of this law:

(1)  For any person, real estate broker, or real estate salesman (i)
to refuse to sell, lease, sublease, rent, assign or otherwise transfer, or to
refuse to negotiate for the sale, lease, sublease, rental, assignment or
other transfer of, the title, leasehold or other interest in any housing, or
to represent that housing is not available for inspection, sale, lease, sub-
lease, rental, assignment or other transfer when in fact it is so available, or
otherwise to deny or withhold any housing from any person because of
any person's race, color, religious creed, ancestry, or national origin, or
(ii) to include in the terms, conditions or privileges of any sale, lease,
sublease, rental, assignment or other transfer of any housing, any clause,
condition or restriction discriminating against any person in the use or
occupancy of such housing because of race, color, religious creed, ancestry
or national origin; (iii) to discriminate in the furnishing of any facil-
ities, repairs, improvements, or services, or in the terms, conditions, privi-
leges, or tenure of occcupancy of any person because of race, color, re-
ligious creed, ancestry, or national origin.

(2)   For any lending institution to discriminate in lending money,
guaranteeing loans, accepting a deed of trust or mortgage, or otherwise
making available funds for the purchase, acquisition, construction, altera-
tion, rehabilitation, repair or maintenance of any housing, or to discrimi-
nate in the fixing of the rates, terms, conditions, or provisions of any such
financial assistance or in the extension of service in connection therewith,
because of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, or national origin.

(c)  to cause to be made any untrue or intentionally misleading state-
ment, advertise or in any other manner attempt to incite neighborhood
unrest, community tension or fear of racial, color, religious, nationality
or ethnic change in any street, block, neighborhood or any other area,
to obtain a listing of any housing for sale, rental, assignment, transfer
or other disposition, where such statement, advertising or other repre-
sentation is false or materially misleading, or where there is insufficient
basis to judge its truth or falsity to warrant making the statement; or to
make any other material misrepresentations in order to obtain such list-
ing, sale, removal from, lease, assignment, transfer or other disposition
of said housing, or

(d)   to make, any representation to any prospective purchaser or
leasee that any housing in a particular block or neighborhood or area
may undergo, is undergoing or has undergone a change with respect to
racial, color, religious, nationality or ethnic composition of such block or
neighborhoo
