ing, resurfacing, widening, draining and acquisition (including the prep-
aration of plans, architectural and engineering services) of transit facili-
ties which are defined to be all those matters and things utilized in
rendering mass transit service by means of rail, bus, water or air and any
other mode of travel, including without limitation, tracks, rights of way,
bridges, tunnels, subways, rolling stock for rail, motor vehicle, marine and
air transportation, stations, terminals and ports, areas for parking and
all equipment, fixtures, buildings and structures and services incidental to
or required in connection with the performance of mass transit service;
and any part of the County's share of contributions agreed to be made
under any contracts or agreements by the Washington Suburban Transit
District to the capital required for the construction and/or acquisition of
transit facilities (as defined in this subsection or as may be defined in
Chapter 870 of the Laws of Maryland of 1965, as the same may be amended
from time to time) in the Washington metropolitan area, all as provided
by said Chapter 870 of the Laws of Maryland of 1965, as amended from
time to time.

Section 2. This act shall take effect August 15, 1968.

Chapter 3
(Bill No. 9)

An Act authorizing the issuance of bonds of Montgomery County,
Maryland, in the principal amount not exceeding $116,000,000, upon
its full faith and credit for financing transit facilities as defined
herein, including contributions by Montgomery County to the capital
required for the construction and/or acquisition of transit facilities
under contracts or agreements of the Washington Suburban Transit
District, and prescribing the terms and conditions, by reference, upon
which said bonds shall be issued and delivered and other incidental
details with respect thereto, and providing for the application of the
proceeds of such bonds and for the levy of unlimited ad valorem taxes
for the payment of the principal and interest thereof.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that—

Section 1. Montgomery County, Maryland, is hereby authorized, at
any time and from time to time, upon its full faith and credit to borrow
money and incur indebtedness in a total amount not exceeding $116,000,000
for financing (i) the construction, reconstruction, improvement, exten-
sion, enlargement, alteration, conversion, modernization, repair, reloca-
tion, grading, resurfacing, widening, draining and acquisition (including
preparation of plans, architectural and engineering services) of transit
facilities which are defined to be all those matters and things utilized in
rendering mass transit service by means of rail, bus, water or air and any
other mode of travel, including without limitation, tracks, rights of way,
bridges, tunnels, subways, rolling stock for rail, motor vehicle, marine
and air transportation, stations, terminals and ports, areas for parking
and all equipment, fixtures, buildings and structures and services
