of said Code, title "Plumber's Certificates"; section 101.6 of said Code,
title "Qualifications"; be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, all to read as follows:
101.1 Plumber
Master Plumber: A Master Plumber is a person who regularly en-
gages in and works at the plumbing business on his own account, who
employs and directs Journeyman Plumbers and Apprentice Plumbers and
who has an established place of business within the State of Maryland.
Journeyman Plumber: A Journeyman Plumber is a person who hires
himself out to work at the plumbing business for and under the direction
of a Master Plumber.
Apprentice Plumber: An Apprentice Plumber is a person who is
learning the plumbing business under the direction and control of a Master
Plumber.
No person shall engage in the plumbing business in Baltimore County
or install any pipes, fixtures, or other apparatus for supplying water, or
removing liquid and water-borne wastes, nor install any plumbing fix-
tures, drainage, vents, and water-distributing systems unless he shall have
been duly authorized to do so by the issuance to him of one of the following
certificates, and no person shall do or perform any plumbing work not
authorized under the certificate issued to him. Nothing in this section
contained shall be construed to prohibit a licensed well driller or water
well contractor from constructing a well or similar water supply system,
or from installing pumps and water conditioning equipment.
101.2 Plumber's Certificates
Master Plumber's Certificates: This certificate shall be issued to a
person who proposes to regularly engage in the work at the plumbing busi-
ness on his own account and to employ Journeyman Plumbers and Appren-
tice Plumbers. He shall have a regular place of business in the State of
Maryland. He must be a citizen of the United States and shall have had at
least two year's experience as a Journeyman Plumber.
Journeyman Plumber's Certificate: This certificate shall be issued to
a person who shall have served at least 7500 working hours as an Appren-
tice Plumber and who shall be at least 21 years of age.
Apprentice Plumber's Certificate: This certificate shall be issued to
any person who desires to learn the plumbing business under the direction
and control of a Master Plumber.
No person shall be issued a Master Plumber's Certificate or Journey-
man Plumber's Certificate until he shall have applied for the same and
shall have been examined as to these qualifications therefor in the follow-
ing manner:
101.6 Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Master Plumber's Certificate or a Journey-
man Plumber's Certificate, the applicant shall, if examined in writing,
correctly answer at least 75 per cent of the questions propounded. If he
shall fail to answer 75 per cent of the questions correctly, the Board may
nevertheless, in its discretion, examine the applicant orally and require
an actual demonstration of his ability to properly perform plumbing work,
