voting in the negative, and the said Resolution became effective in accord-
ance with the law, the 18th day of July 1968.

Resolution No. R-14-68
A Resolution authorizing the annexation by the City of Gaithersburg
of approximately 40.8286 acres of land located to the southwest
of the present corporate boundaries and adjacent thereto and extend-
ing along Quince Orchard Road.
Whereas, the Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg have received
a Petition consenting to the proposed enlargement of the corporate bound-
aries of the City of Gaithersburg, so as to include an area encompassing
40.8286 acres of land located to the southwest of the present corporate
boundary line and adjacent thereto and extending along Quince Orchard
Road.
Whereas, the signatures of the said Petition of Consent have been
verified and it has been ascertained that the persons signing said Petition
are owners of not less than twenty-five percentum (25%) of the persons
who reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered as voters in
County elections.
Whereas, from the provisions of Section 19 (b), of Article 23 (a) of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, it is mandatory
that the following Resolution be introduced.
Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of
Gaithersburg, that a new section to the Charter of the City of Gaithers-
burg, be added. Said new section to be known as Section ee to follow
immediately after Section dd thereof, to provide for the enlargement of the
corporate boundaries of the City of Gaithersburg by including the follow-
ing area, which is added to the City of Gaithersburg:
All that tract of land and premises situate in Election District No. 9
Montgomery County, in the State of Maryland, being part of the land
conveyed from James C. Christopher and E. Austin Carlin, Trustees to
DANAC Real Estate Investment Corp. by deed dated May 29, 1963 re-
corded in Liber 3091 at Folio 436 and the land conveyed from D. A. Nee to
DANAC Real Estate Investment Corp. by deed recorded August 19, 1963 in
Liber 3122 at Folio 527 and the Land conveyed to Potomac Electric
Power Company by deed recorded in Liber 2854 at Folio 252 and 255 and
Liber 2798 at Folio 405 among the land records of Montgomery County,
more particularly described according to a survey by Allen and Koenig,
Surveyors, as follows:
Beginning on the northerly side of Quince Orchard Road (Md. Rt.
124) at the southwesterly corner of the land described in Liber 3122 at
Folio 527, thence running with the line between said described land and
the land described in Liber E.A. 70 at Folio 546 N. 11° 33' 00" E 239.25
feet to a found stone monument, N 73° 57' 00" W 664.64 feet from another
stone monument as defined in Liber E.B.P. 22 at Folio 365; thence
running with the line between the land described in Liber 2854 at Folio
252 and 255, Liber 2798 at Folio 405 on the one side and the land
