or special elections of the Town of Gaithersburg, Maryland, requesting
that the proposed amendments be submitted on referendum to the voters
of the Town of Gaithersburg, Maryland, providing a complete and exact
copy of this Resolution shall be continuously posted on the bulletin board
of the Town of Gaithersburg, and be posted in some public place in the
Town of Gaithersburg, until the 6th day of July, 1960, and be it further
provided that a fair summary of this Resolution be published in the
Montgomery County Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation, once
in each of the weeks June 1st, June 8th, June 15th, and June 22nd.

I, Merton F. Duvall, Mayor of the Town of Gaithersburg, Maryland,
certify this to be the Resolution adopted by the Town Council of Gaithers-
burg, in public meeting assembled this 26th day of May, 1960.

Resolution No. R-25-67

Resolution authorizing the annexation by the Town of Gaithersburg
of approximately 64.8674 acres of land located to the south of the
present corporate limit and adjacent thereto and extending along
Muddy Branch Road.

Whereas, the Mayor and Town Council of Gaithersburg have received
a Petition consenting to the proposed enlargement of the corporate
boundaries of the Town of Gaithersburg, so as to include an area encom-
passing 64.8674 acres of land located to the south of the present corporate
boundaries and adjacent thereto and extending along Muddy Branch Road.

Whereas, the signatures of the said Petition of Consent have been
verified and it has been ascertained that the persons signing said Petition
are owners of not less than twenty-five percentum (25%) of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the area to be annexed and
represent at least twenty-five percentum (25%) of the persons who reside
in the area to be annexed and who are registered as voters in County
elections.

Whereas, from the provisions of Section 19 (b), of Article 23 (a) of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, it is mandatory
that the following Resolution be introduced.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Town Council of
Gaithersburg that a new section to the Charter of the Town of Gaithers-
burg, be added. Said new section to be known as Section (bb) to follow
immediately after Section (aa) thereof to provide for the enlargement of
the corporate boundaries of the Town of Gaithersburg, by including the
following area, which is added to the Town of Gaithersburg;
