Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COMMIS-
SIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, that the Commissioners
hold a public hearing in the Fruitland Fire Hall, Fruitland, Maryland, on
the annexation hereby proposed, on Tuesday, May 21, 1968, at 7:30 P.M.
The Chairman Commissioner is hereby requested to cause a public notice
of said hearing to be published in accordance with law, being Section 19
(d), of Article 23A of the Maryland Code.
Section 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COMMIS-
SIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, that this Resolution shall
take effect upon the expiration of forty-five (45) days following its final
passage.
THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and read at the regular
meeting of the Commissioners of Fruitland, held on the ninth day of April,
1968, and having been duly published as required by law in the meantime,
was finally passed at its meeting held on the 21st day of May, 1968.

Resolution of August 5, 1968
A Resolution to repeal and re-enact with Amendments Sections
119(a), (h), and (m) of the Charter of the Town of Fruitland in
Wicomico County, Maryland relating to the qualifications of voters of
the said Town, the questions to be asked applicants for registration
as voters in said Town and the qualifications for Commissioners of
said Town.
Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY
THE FRUITLAND COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND,
MARYLAND, by virtue of the authority granted in Article HE of the
Constitution of Maryland, and Chapter 423 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1955, and all amendments thereto, that Sections
119(a), (h) and (m) of the Charter of the Town of Fruitland, Maryland
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
to read as follows:
Section 119 (a) Qualifications. Any citizen of the United States who
has attained the age of twenty-one years, and who resides in the Town of
Fruitland at the time of registration, or who is assessed on the tax books
of the Town as the owner of real property of the value of at least $500.00
shall be eligible to register and after registration shall be eligible to vote
at all Town elections.
(h) Questions. Said Board of Election Supervisors shall determine
the qualifications and rights of each applicant to register by asking such
applicant the following questions, which shall be answered under oath
by such applicant:
(1) Are you a citizen of the United States ?
(2) Have you attained the age of twenty-one ?
(3) Are you a resident of the Town of Fruitland, or are you as-
sessed on the tax books of the Town as the owner of real property of the
value of at least $500.00 ?
