trict; thence in a northerly direction by and with the aforesaid
boundary line to a point 600 feet perpendicular to the center line of
Slab Bridge Road; thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to the
center line of the aforesaid road and 600 feet therefrom to a point 250
feet northwest of the center line of South Division Street; thence
southwesterly perpendicular to the center line of Cedar Lane to a
point 200 feet therefrom; thence in a northwesterly direction parallel
to the center line of Cedar Lane and 200 feet therefrom to the center
line of U. S. Route 13; thence by and with the center line of U. S. Route
13 in a southwesterly direction to the Town limits; and providing
for the conditions and circumstances applicable to the proposed
change in the boundaries of the Town of Fruitland.

Whereas, the Town of Fruitland has received a "Petition for Annexa-
tion" signed by Ella Z. Price and others requesting that the Town of
Fruitland now annex a certain area of land situate contiguous to and bind-
ing upon the northeasterly corporate limits of the Town of Fruitland,
beginning at a point in the center line of Slab Bridge Road and the center
line of the southwest branch of Slab Bridge Creek at the town limits of
Fruitland; thence in a northerly direction to the boundary line of Fruit-
land Election District; thence in a northerly direction by and with the
aforesaid boundary line to a point 600 feet perpendicular to the center
line of Slab Bridge Road; thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to
the center line of the aforesaid road and 600 feet therefrom to a point 250
feet northwest of the center line of South Division Street; thence south-
westerly perpendicular to the center line of Cedar Lane to a point 200 feet
therefrom; thence in a northwesterly direction parallel to the center line
of Cedar Lane and 200 feet therefrom to the center line of U. S. Route 13;
thence by and with the center line of U. S. Route 13 a southwesterly
direction to the Town limits; and

Whereas, said Petition was presented to the Town of Fruitland on
April 9, 1968, and officially received by it on that date; and

Whereas, the Commissioners of the Town of Fruitland have caused
to be made a verification of the signatures on the Petition, and have
ascertained that the persons signing the Petition represented sixty per
cent (60%) of the persons who reside in said area and who are registered
to vote in county elections in the precinct in which said area is located,
and that the persons signing the Petition also represented the owners of
sixty per cent (60%) of the assessed valuation of the real property located
in said area, all as of April 9, 1968, as will appear from the certificate of
Irp R. Hobbs, Chairman Commissioner, duly filed prior hereto among the
official records of the Town of Fruitland (a copy being attached hereto);
and

Whereas, it appears that the Petition meets the requirements of law.
