1944                              MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

line of Fruitland Election District; thence in a northerly direction by
and with the aforesaid boundary line to a point 600 feet perpendicular
to the center line of Slab Bridge Road; thence in a northwesterly direc-
tion parallel to the center line of the aforesaid road and 600 feet there-
from to a point 250 feet northwest of the center line of South Division
Street; thence southwesterly perpendicular to the center line of Cedar
Lane to a point 200 feet therefrom; thence in a northwesterly direction
parallel to the center line of Cedar Lane and 200 feet therefrom to the
center line of U. S. Route 13; thence by and with the center line of U. S.
Route 13 in a southwesterly direction to the Town limits, generally subject
to all provisions of the Charter of the Town of Fruitland.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COMMIS-
SIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, That it is hereby further
proposed and recommended that such annexation of said area be made
upon the following terms and conditions:

A.    That upon the effective date of the annexation of said area
hereby proposed, the provisions of the Charter of Fruitland, and all
ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations of the Town of Fruitland in
effect on said date shall apply to said area to the same extent as to all areas
within the present corporate limits.

B.    That upon the effectiveness of the annexation of said area hereby
proposed, all property therein shall be subject to taxation by the Town of
Fruitland at the full rate of taxes levied by the Town of Fruitland from
time to time; provided, however, that if the effective date of such an-
nexation shall occur after a portion of the taxable year has elapsed, then
appropriate action shall be taken by the Commissioners to the end that the
property in the annexed area shall be taxed only for that portion of such
tax year after the effective date of such annexation.

Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COMMIS-
SIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, that the Commissioners
hold a public hearing in the Fruitland Fire Hall, Fruitland, Maryland, on
the annexation hereby proposed, on May 21, 1968, at 7:30 P.M. The Chair-
man Commissioner is hereby requested to cause a public notice of said
hearing to be published in accordance with law, being Section 19(d), of
Article 23A of the Maryland Code.

Section 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COMMIS-
SIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, that this Resolution shall
take effect upon the expiration of forty-five (45) days following its final
passage.

THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and read at the regular
meeting of the Commissioners of Fruitland, held on the 9th day of April,
1968, and having been duly published as required by law in the meantime,
was finally passed at its meeting held on the 21st day of May, 1968.
