1942                              MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

thence running in a northeasterly direction by and with the center line of
U. S. Route 13 to the point where the present southwesterly corporate
limits of the Town of Fruitland intersect U. S. Route 13, generally
subject to all provisions of the Charter of the Town of Fruitland.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COM-
MISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, That it is hereby fur-
ther proposed and recommended that such annexation of said area be
made upon the following terms and conditions:

A.    That upon the effective date of the annexation of said area
hereby proposed, the provisions of the Charter of Fruitland, and all ordi-
nances, resolutions, rules and regulations of the Town of Fruitland in
effect on said date shall apply to said area to the same extent as to all
areas within the present corporate limits.

B.    That upon the effectiveness of the annexation of said area hereby
proposed, all property therein shall be subject to taxation by the Town of
Fruitland at the full rate of taxes levied by the Town of Fruitland from
time to time; provided, however, that if the effective date of such annex-
ation shall occur after a portion of the taxable year has elapsed, then
appropriate action shall be taken by the Commissioners to the end that
the property in the annexed area shall be taxed only for that portion of
such tax year after the effective date of such annexation.

Section 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COM-
MISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, That the Commis-
sioners hold a public hearing in the Fruitland Fire Hall, Fruitland, Mary-
land, on the annexation hereby proposed, on January 9, 1968, at 7:30 P.M.
The Chairman Commissioner is hereby requested to cause a public notice
of said hearing to be published in accordance with law, being Section
19(d), of Article 23A of the Maryland Code.

Section 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COM-
MISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, That this Resolution
shall take effect upon the expiration of forty-five (45) days following its
final passage.

THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and read at the regular
meeting of the Commissioners of Fruitland, held on the 28th day of
November, 1967, and having been duly published as required by law in the
meantime, was finally passed at its meeting held on the 9th day of January,
1968.
