FRUITLAND                                          1941

Division Street; thence running in a northeasterly direction by and with
the center line of South Division Street to the center of Slab Bridge Road;
thence running in a southeasterly direction by and with the center line of
Slab Bridge Road to the center of the southwest prong of Slab Bridge
Creek; thence running in a southwesterly direction by and with the center
line of the southwest prong of Slab Bridge Creek to the Southeasterly
property line of Lloyd T. Brown; thence running in a southwesterly
direction by and with the southeasterly property line of Lloyd T. Brown
to the center of Meadowbridge Road; thence running in a southwesterly
direction on a bearing of the aforesaid southeasterly property line of
Lloyd T. Brown to the center of a drainage ditch; thence running by and
with the center line of the aforesaid drainage ditch to the center line of
U.S. Route 13; thence running in a northeasterly direction by and with
the center line of U. S. Route 13 to the point where the present south-
westerly corporate limits of the Town of Fruitland intersect U. S. Route
13; and

Whereas, said Petition was presented to the Town of Fruitland on
November 6, 1967, and officially received by it on that date; and

Whereas, The Commissioners of the Town of Fruitland have caused
to be made a verification of the signatures on the Petition, and have ascer-
tained that the persons signing the Petition represented twenty-six per
cent (26%) of the persons who reside in said area and who are registered to
vote in county elections in the precinct in which said area is located, and
that the persons signing the Petition also represented the owners of
thirty-seven percent (37%) of the assessed valuation of the real property
located in said area, all as of November 20, 1967, as will appear from the
certificate of Irp R. Hobbs, Chairman Commissioner, duly filed prior hereto
among the official records of the Town of Fruitland (a copy being
attached hereto); and

Whereas, it appears that the Petition meets the requirements of law.

Section 1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COM-
MISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF FRUITLAND, That it is hereby
proposed and recommended that the boundaries of the Town of Fruitland
be changed so as to annex to and include within the boundaries of the
Town of Fruitland all that certain area of land, together with the persons
residing therein and their property, situated contiguous to and binding
upon the westerly, southerly and easterly corporate limits of the Town of
Fruitland, beginning at a point in the center of U. S. Route 13 at the
northeasterly corporate limits of the Town of Fruitland; thence running
in a northeasterly direction by and with the center line of U. S. Route 13
to the center of Cedar Lane; thence running in a southeasterly direction
by and with the center of Cedar Lane to the center of South Division
Street; thence running in a northeasterly direction by and with the center
line of South Division Street to the center of
