1792                                      VETOES

This Bill makes certain corrective changes in Sections 17A, 175
and 325 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

However, Senate Bill 38, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and was signed by me on May 2, 1969, repeals Sections
17A and 175 of Article 77, and moves Section 325 to a different
Article of the Code. Consequently, House Bill 333 is inconsistent
with Senate Bill 38 and is, to a large extent, unnecessary. In light of
this, I have deemed it advisable to veto House Bill 333.

Sincerely,
/s/ Marvin Mandel,

Governor.

House Bill No. 364—Insurance Certificates of Authority

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 41(1)
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Insurance Code," subtitle
"Insurance Department and Insurance Commissioner," increasing
the annual continuation or renewal of certificate of authority for
domestic insurers with their home or executive office outside of Mary-
land from $25.00 to a minimum of $500.00 and a maximum of
$3,500.00.

May 28, 1969.

Honorable Thomas Hunter Lowe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Con-
stitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 364 and am returning it to
you.

This Bill increases the fee for filing an application for annual
continuation or renewal of certificate of authority for a domestic
insurer with its home office outside of Maryland.

The co-sponsor of the Bill, Delegate Resnick, Chairman of the
Insurance Subcommittee, has requested that I veto the Bill because
there was no House hearing on it and it passed without receiving the
consideration of the Subcommittee. I am complying with his request.

Sincerely,
/s/ Marvin Mandel,

Governor.
