thereof, to stand in place of the section so repealed, relating to the
borrowing power of the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 184 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," as enacted by Chapter 192 of the Acts
of 1957, be and it is hereby repealed, and that new Section 184 be
and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
section so repealed, and to read as follows:

184.

The County Commissioners shall have, and is hereby given, express
power and authority to borrow from time to time, if, and as needed,
such sum or sums of money, excluding any bonded indebtedness, not
to exceed in the aggregate, at any time or times, the sum of six
hundred thousand dollars ($600,000.00), for the purposes of pay-
ing the general operating expenses or capital improvements of the
County or any of its departments and to pledge the faith and credit
of the County therefor, subject only to the provisions of this section.
Any sum or sums of money so borrowed by the authority of this
section, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by any
other income belonging to the general funds of the County or any
of its departments or by any funds derived from special assessments
resulting from capital improvements. The County Commissioners are
authorized to levy taxes and/or special assessments against all assess-
able property to repay such sum or sums of money together with the
interest thereon.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 34(a)
of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensa-
tion," subtitle "Application of Article; Extra-Hazardous Employ-
ments," covering members of volunteer fire companies and rescue
squads from Caroline County by workmen's compensation benefits
under certain conditions.
