place of amusement as waiters, or for the purpose or under the pre-
tense of selling, serving, receiving orders or pay for spiritous or
malt liquors, wines, lager beer, or any other refreshments or merchan-
dise.

Any person violating the provisions of the preceding section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof
in the Criminal Court of Baltimore, shall be sentenced to pay a fine
of not less than one hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, or
to imprisonment in jail not less than one month nor more than six
months, or to both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the
Court, and to forfeiture of license, one-half the fine to be paid to the
informer and the other half to the State.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 40
(House Bill 427)

AN ACT to legalize the 1969 Edition of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Baltimore City, being Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, edited by Carl N. Everstine; and to
repeal Chapter 498 of the Acts of 1967 which legalized a 1967
Edition of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Chapter 498 of the Acts of 1967 be and it is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the 1969 Edition of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City, being Article 4 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, published under the
direction of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore and edited
by Carl N. Everstine, is legalized. The Code shall contain all public
local laws relating to Baltimore City following the 1969 Regular
Session of the General Assembly of Maryland. It shall be deemed
and taken in all the courts of the State, by the justices of the peace
and trial magistrates of the State, and by all other public officials
of the State and of its several political subdivisions, to be evidence
of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore City, in effect at the time of
completion.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That any Supplement to this
Code is similarly legalized and effective to contain changes in the
Public Local Laws of Baltimore City as of the time of publication.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
